STOP PRESS - Permanent home for The Beatles Hidden Gallery – The Beatles Story, Pier Head, Liverpool

After being hidden away for over 45 years, a rare collection of previously unpublished and unseen photographs of The Beatles is to form a permanent exhibition at The Beatles Story, Pier Head, Liverpool. Following a launch exhibition at The Menier Gallery, London in April this year the award winning photographer Paul Berriff‘s unique black and white images of the band at both their most natural and animated during their UK tour of 1963/64 will now go on permanent display from 25th August 2010.

Recognised as one of the UK’s leading film documentary makers, Paul Berriff has won international critical acclaim for his varied work, resulting in over 17 awards including a British Academy Award (BAFTA).

“I feel that the photographs are coming home to Liverpool and the Beatles Story is the most fitting place to have the images on show. ‘The Beatles Hidden Gallery’, will have found their rightful home when they are unveiled at the Beatles Story, Pier Head on August 24” says the photographer.

Jerry Goldman, MD of The Beatles Story, said: “We are delighted that these unique images are going to have a home at the Beatles Story. They are very revealing photos as they picture the Beatles in unguarded moments fooling around, sharing a snack and relaxing and I’m confident that our visitors will love them."
